Sleep Walking
For my 110 Introduction to Fashion Design final, I created a gown from scrap fabrics and bedsheets. I modeled this garment after the story of The Princess and the Pea. With three different layers of fabric, she is still up and restless. The corset is made from bed sheets, resembling a quilt with the diamond stitching covering it. As well as lace around the edges like the nightgown normally worn to bed. The skirt is three layers starting at the top with a fitted sheet, adding texture with its billowing effect. Next is the silk flat sheet mirroring a certain duvet cover with ties. Last, on the final layer, we have a patchwork skirt with lace lining the bottom and a floral fabric tying together every layer of the garment.
