Vanity Bloomers

April 2025

With the knowledge I gained from my patternmaking class, I designed and constructed the Vanity Bloomers. I used an old sheet and scrap fabric to construct my reinvention of the classic sweatpants. The front waistband buttons up on the side with nine-hole buttonholes. These buttons are embroidered with the letters of my name. The back is cinched with a corset-like structure. The bottom flare is constructed with the same fabric as the waistband. A ruffle is created with a ribbon weaving in and out of a line of buttonholes, starting and ending on the outside of the calf to be tied into a bow.
